Update Update Update....

I need to get better at updating this blog - It has been almost a month since my last post and there have been lots of things going on in the Enger Household...some good, some not so good...so bare with me....

Here are a few recent pictures of Hayden. He will be 9 months old already next week. It's so hard for me to believe that in 3 short months he will be a year old. It almost makes me cry. He has had a rough few weeks with teething and now he has a cold. He hasn't been sleeping very well lately, so one of us usually ends up getting up with him and then sleeping with him in the spare bed next to his room. I'm looking forward to the days when he consistently sleeps through the night. We must have been spoiled because we are making up for it now. But I know I will look back and miss the times when he wanted to snuggle and be held while he sleeps, so when I am laying with him I try to remember that instead of my nice comfy bed with my own pillow that I am sure Lucy is laying on while I am away. :)
He now has 7 teeth....or maybe 6 - he doesn't let us look inside his mouth, it must hurt too much. Still no rolling over or crawling, but he does scoot on his butt and also goes around in circles on his tummy. He is one strong willed kid, that is for sure. Tonight we tried giving him some yogurt melts and dried fruit (both made for babies) and he wouldn't do it and I also tried having him drink his milk out of a sippy cup and he just got REALLY mad. I am convinced that I will have a 7 year old still eating sweet potatoes from a jar and drinking milk from a bottle. :)
We are pretty lucky to have him in our lives, that's for sure.

A couple of weeks ago we started a bathroom remodel. We wanted to make a little more room in it and add an extra sink and put a shower into our clawfoot tub. We are almost done. Jason and his dad tore it apart a couple Saturdays ago and this past weekend my mom and I were able to paint and yesterday and today the contractor has been working on tiling. I am so excited to see it finished. Here are a couple before and during pictures. I will post the final results when it is done. Hopefully by next week.

On to not so fun news, I found out last week that I will no longer have a job at Hospice of the Red River Valley at the end of this month. I am both very sad and a little nervous about it. Sad because I will miss my colleagues and nervous because I don't know what the future will hold. I am a firm believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason but in today's economy and living in Lisbon, ND I don't have many options. But I am optimistic that something will come along and in the mean time I get to hang out with the coolest, cutest best little boy in the world. If nothing else this experience has showed me how lucky I am - I have the very best family and friends. They have all been so supportive and understanding of my crabby mood. So maybe all of that free time will help with updating this blog! :)

I'm sorry to hear about the job, Betsy. :( That just sucks. Hopefully something turns up for you soon. In the mean time, like you said, just relish the extra time with Hayden.

Who, by the way, is ADORABLE. Seriously. I can't believe he has that many teeth already. Poor little guy - teething is so painful for them!

I hope he gets over his cold soon!!!
