Warning: Hormones may or may not influence this post! :)
I have also decided that warnings need to be included on CMT that state "women who have just given birth should be advised tears may be shed while watching our videos!" While feeding Clara late (or early however you look at it) there isn't much else on tv. The following video made me cry like a baby while holding my new baby. I know it's written for a girl that this boy is in love with, but I thought the message also included the love a parent has for a child. It reminds me of the children's book, Guess How Much I Love You, which is one of my favorite books to read to my kids.
An update on our little peanut, Clara! We had her 2 week check up on Aug. 26th and she is back up to her birth weight and grew a 1/4 of an inch since she was born. She is in the 13 percentile for weight and 11% for height. So, she is a little one. I am use to Hayden who was always in at least the 80% or sometimes even off the chart when we went for his check ups.
* She is a very good baby.
*She LOVES to be held. As much as I would love to hold her all day, I'm working on getting her to sleep without being held!
*She would nurse all day long if I would let her.
*She sleeps with her eyes WIDE open. It's kind of freaky!
*She smiles in her sleep, alot! It's so cute!
*She absolutely loves her big brother. Whenever Hayden talks to her she lights up.
*She has been sleeping anywhere from 3-6 hours at night. And usually goes right back to sleep after eating.
*We have gone through 2 whole boxes of diapers (84 diapers in each) and half of another since getting home from the hospital! We joke that she is high maintenance and will only poop in a brand new clean diaper. It seems like just as soon as we change it a minute later she has an explosion!
*She is going on her first week trip to the lake today!
Hayden has been SOOOO good with Clara. I am so proud of him. We were very lucky to have my mom come and help for most of the first week we were home and my sister and her kids also came that first week so it occupied him and then Jason took the following week off so this past week was my first time going it alone with both kids. To be honest I was a little nervous, but it went really well. On Monday morning when Jason left for work I asked him which of us 3 did he think would cry the most! :) Mon-Wed. they both napped at the same time for around 2 hours so I was able to get things done or nap. And he is very understanding that I'm not able to play with him or do things for him while I am feeding Clara. Sometimes he even snuggles up next to me while I'm feeding her and just wants to be held too. He loves to sing to her and talk to her.
I have taken pictures since my last post but haven't uploaded them yet. But you can check out our professional pictures we had taken. We had Hayden's 3 year photos, Clara's newborn and a few family pictures. We are going to have a hard time choosing!
