Auntie of the Year!!!

Last Thursday Hayden and I made the long trip down to St. James MN!  We went there so that I could babysit John and Sara while Emily worked and Scott went to coach at MN's state track meet.  Scott left on Friday at around 10:30am so for the next 12 hours I was all by myself with a 3 year old, 2 year old and 4 month old!  WOW!  It was a little hectic at times, but for the most part pretty good.  On Saturday, that is a different story.  Emily had to work until noon, so I was thinking....this is going to be a cake walk! Not so much!  John was laying around and I went over to him and he felt very warm, so I took his temp. - it was 103.7, so I gave him some tylenol and got him set up on the couch with juice, pillows, blanket etc.  A little while later he started to cry and said that his throat hurt.  I called Emily at work and we decided that he should go to the walk in clinic.  Emily's friend Kate came over to watch Hayden and Sara so that I could take John to the clinic.  Here is when it gets good.....The doctor did a throat swab to see if he had strep and  John threw up all over me!!!!!!  It was  pretty gross.  It was every where...in my purse, on my leg, all over my shoes, every where!  So I told Emily that she owed me big time - she gave me a special k bar...It was a good start, but definitely not the end of it!  But overall, it was a good weekend.  Hayden did end up getting a little fever on Monday (the day we drove home!) but is doing much better now.

It's a beautiful day in Lisbon, ND!  We are heading to the pool as soon as Hayden wakes up from his nap!  Can't wait!  Enjoy the day!

Sweet Summer Time

Memorial Day weekend we went to G&G Bishoff's cabin on Turtle Lake.  Friday night it was just Jason, Hayden, Lucy and me so we hung out and relaxed we also had all of Saturday morning as well.  And then the rest of the troops arrived.  Emily and her family and parents came later on Saturday because they had to work.  We had a lot of fun and Saturday was absolutely perfect.  It was windy but we had the right spot on the lake because it didn't seem to bother us.  Hayden jumped off the dock over and over and played in the sand.  We went for a boat ride and we celebrated John and Hayden's birthdays.  Little Sara is not so little anymore.  She is such a good baby and giggles all the time.  The boys running around and making lots of noises didn't seem to bother her...she slept through most of it.
It was a lot of fun and we look forward to 4th of July there as well.
This past week has been pretty low-key.  We stayed home this weekend because Jason needed to be worship assistant at church and we got a done of yard work done.  Jason is finishing up the sandbox today and yesterday I got all of my plants planted.  We pulled out some ugly shrubs in the front of our house and I planted some perennials instead - it looks 100% better.
Next week Hayden and I are making the 5+ hour trip to St. James by ourselves.  My brother-in-law is a track coach and he has some track athletes going to state, so Emily asked me if I would come and babysit on Friday and Saturday while she works.  I have a feeling I will be exhausted - chasing 2 boys - ages 2 and 3 and taking care of a 4 month old all by myself scares me! :)  My motto is - as long as everyone is alive at the end of the weekend, it was successful! :)
Have a great week everyone!
