Happy New Year!
We made it through Christmas and New Years and here we are 12 days into 2009! I can't believe it. We had a great few days with family and friends at Christmas Time. We started out having the Enger/Olson Christmas party with our good friends Chad and Ann Olson and their boys Rodney, Ryan and Jack. They live in Lisbon and we are so lucky to have them in our lives. Ann is Hayden's 2nd mommy as he goes to their house for daycare 4 days a week. And he has 3 boys that he gets to play all day long with. Does it get any better than that?
We were in Forman Christmas Eve for our traditional Dyste get together. Traditional is the key word there - it was my 26th Christmas and every Christmas Eve is the same - we go to church, eat the same meal (ribs, meat balls and gravy and pulsa - a norweigan sausage), read the Christmas Story from the Bible, sing a few carols and then open presents. And my sister, Emily, the Tradition police wouldn't have it any other way! :)
We left early Christmas Day morning and went to Marion to be with the Piehl's and Jason's parents. Hayden got his first Case tractor from his Grandma and Grandpa Enger. I'm sure it won't be his last. :) He was very spoiled by all of his grandma's and grandpa's, aunts and uncles, and even great-aunts and great-uncles. It was definitely a Christmas to remember.
New Years we decided to go out on the town thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Enger for being babysitters. We went to Fargo with our friends Ann and Chad for dinner and a movie and then came back to Lisbon to ring in the New Year at the local watering hole. It was great to get out of the house and go on a double date. Those things don't happen very often anymore.
We hope you had a great holiday season also...Happy New Year!
