Here we go again with another one of my marathon posts! I need to figure out that it wouldn't take so much time if I would post more frequently with less info on each post. But I guess this will have to do. Here is what we've been up to lately....so much to update!
- Every Wednesday when the weather cooperates we have been going to the park. This Summer I sent out an email to all of the stay-at-home mom's I know and decided we should just have a weekly, standing playdate at the park. It has been lots of fun and something we all look forward to every week.
- Hayden celebrated his birthday at the farm, at our house with friends and at the lake. He had a Batman birthday party this year.
- Memorial Day weekend we went to the lake. My sister and he family was also there. The weather wasn't great, but we still had fun. The boys golfed and the girls shopped at the Flea Market.
- My nephew John stayed with us the week after Memorial Day. The boys had so much fun playing together. For the most part they get along very well.
- The Friday after Memorial Day I drove the kids and John down to St. James to my sisters. LONG drive with 3 kids by myself, but they all did very well. We had a fun weekend just hanging out at Emily and Scotts.
- For Father's Day the kids and I got Jason signed up for a grilling class. He loves to grill, so I thought it would be fun for him to learn a little more. He and 2 of his friends from Lisbon went and they said it was really interesting. They grilled muffins, pizza and stir-fry. He hasn't showed us any of his new tricks yet, I'm patiently waiting!
- Hayden went to basketball camp. It was 4 days for an hour each day and he had a lot of fun.
- I started school! I am taking 2 summer school classes. Not the smartest thing I've ever done, but what do you do. I should have just waited to start in the fall, but my advisor talked me into it. I'm having to adjust to being tied down in the summer. I am taking a computer class that is pretty easy and a medical terminology class which is not easy. So far I've been fitting studying in while kids are napping and sleeping. And when Hayden isn't napping (which is most days) he has been pretty good about letting me study while he plays outside or keeps himself busy. I'll be done the end of July.
- Hayden is in t-ball again this summer. They meet 4 times on Wednesday nights in June. He has been enjoying learning to bat, throw the ball, run the bases, field grounders and eating lots of freezies! :)
- We went to the lake the 2nd weekend in June and Emily and the kids were able to come again. Clara went on her first boat ride and didn't do too bad. The 2nd one wasn't as successful.
- We went to Jason's cousin Devin's baseball game in Lisbon. We were glad it worked out to watch him play.
- Happy Days in Lisbon! We went to the park on Friday night and enjoyed the picnic there as well as the bounce games. On Saturday I ran in the 5k, we went to the parade and then hosted a barbecue with our friends. We had 36 people and the weather, food and evening was perfect!
- Jason was in Jamestown for his 2nd year of banking school. We were happy to have him back on Friday.
- Clara is not eating pretty much everything that we are. She LOVES food and there isn't much she doesn't like. The only thing so far I have found she doesn't like is cottage cheese.
- We've been going to the pool lots. The weather has been nice once in awhile so when it's nice we try to make it there. Both kids are little fish!
- I've been golfing every Tuesday with friends. This past Tuesday I golfed in the Ladies Day tournament with my friend Danielle. We were rained on the back 9, but we had a great time.
