We had a FABULOUS time in Mexico!!!
Thursday - 2/23/12
We left on VERY early in the morning. We pulled out of our driveway at around 4am to make our 6:45am flight out of Fargo. We flew from Fargo to Minneapolis and then to Cancun. All of our flights were on time and smooth sailing. As soon as we arrived in Cancun we found our bus and they took us directly to our hotel. We stayed at the Ocean Maya Royale and we really enjoyed it. It was very nice. We got to our hotel and met up with everyone else in the lobby and visited that evening.
Friday - 2/24/12
We hung out at the pool all day! It was a gorgeous day. We played water volleyball, beach volleyball, went swimming in the pool and ocean, laid by the pool and Jason even managed to lose and find his wedding ring in the pool. He was very lucky! the whole time we were there the weather was perfect. It was at least 85 every day and only partly cloudy. That evening we got dressed up and went out to eat at the Italian restaurant at our hotel.
Saturday - 2/25/12
We were at the pool for part of the day and then we went into Playa del Carmen. We walked up and down the main drag and did some shopping. We then ate at a really good Mexican restaurant. Each couple ordered a dinner for 2 that was served on a grill at our table. It was very good. After we ate we went to Senor Frogs and danced the night away.
Sunday - 2/26/12
In the morning Jason, Jon and Josh got up and went golfing. They said the course was full of palm trees and sandtraps. They said it was very hot and were glad they got up that early to get started. That morning I went to the spa and had a massage and facial. It was very relaxing. That evening we got ready and went to the Hotel's Oscar party in the courtyard. They had appetizers and champagne a red carpet, and a photo op with a man dressed like Oscar! They were showing the red carpet and show on a large screen so we watched for a little pit. Then we went to eat at the Japanese restaurant at our hotel. We sat at the hibachi grill and were very entertained. There was a ton of food.
Monday - 2/27/12
We went to Xelha, which is a large natural water park. We went snorkeling, zip-lining, tubing down a lazy river, lounging in hammocks and much more. It was a long day as they picked us up at the hotel at 7:15am and didn't bring us back until 7pm. That night we went to the hotel's evening show of music from famous movies and sang karoke in the courtyard.
Tuesday - 2/28/12
We had another lounge by the pool day. We played bean bags, water volleyball, and went for a walk down the beach to a neat lagoon. The night we ate at the Mexican restaurant at our hotel.
Wednesday - 2/29/12
We got up and packed up our things and went to the airport to return home. We were all ready to get home to our kids. There was a snow storm in ND so we didn't know if our flights would all be on time but they were and we made it safely home. When we got home Hayden was VERY excited to see us. Clara, not so much. I guess she just had to pay us back for being gone.
The kids said that they had a great time with G & G Enger and we are hoping they were good so that they are welcome back! :) We are already excited about another trip to a warm destination! We made lots of great memories with our great friends. It was definitely a trip we will never forget.
