First Dip in the Lake - June 5th 2011

Picture updates - We celebrated Hayden's birthday with his friends with a playdate.  The weather was great, so we played outside.  The kids did so well together and all of us moms just sat in our lawn chairs and watched and visited.  We then had pizza, cake and ice cream and opened presents.  Hayden is so lucky to have such great friends to grow up with.  And I am very lucky to have great girl friends that also stay at home.
The following pictures are from Memorial Day Weekend at the lake.
The last pictures are from Gymnastics Camp.  I signed him up knowing he would love it but I was also nervous because he is a little timid sometimes.  It was only four sessions of 45 minutes each time.  The first day he was very nervous and didn't know what to think, but he did great and warmed up quickly.  The next three times he didn't even hesitate.  He has been doing somersaults all over the house since.  I just wish that they would do practices for this age group throughout the winter to give him some activities during those dreary months.

One of Hayden's favorite shows to watch is Dora the Explorer.  Every episode they ask the Map which way to go.  The Map usually gives three directions (over the bridge, through the forest, to the tallest mountain) Once they have reached their final destination they sing....WE DID IT!!!
That is how I am feeling.  We did it!  We have survived a very crazy past couple of weeks.
Jason left us on Sunday, June 12th for ND Bankers School in Jamestown and was gone until Friday.  We planned lots during the week so that we wouldn't miss him too much.  I definitely learned that I would not be a good single mom.  Jason learned lots and also had lots of fun with the people he met.  He will go back again next summer for a week.
On Monday I had a doctor appointment and everything continues to look good.  We only have about 7 weeks to go.  On Tuesday Hayden and I went to Detroit Lakes to spend some time with my friend Meg and her family.  I did a Sensaria party for her and it was a beautiful evening that we had the party on her deck overlooking their beautiful lake.  It was a great night with some really fun girls from Detroit Lakes.  Hayden got to tag along with Drew and Dillon and went to Zorbaz for pizza and played games.  Hayden had so much fun playing with Dillon.  We came back on Wednesday.  On Thursday Jason's mom was nice enough to take Hayden over night so that I could get ready for a rummage sale on Friday and Saturday.  Hayden had fun hanging out at the farm and I got lots done.  My friend Shannon and I had a rummage sale this past Friday and Saturday and we had a really good turn out.  The sale was mostly Shannon's as she lives out in the country but my mom and I both put a few things on there and it turned out really well.  The rest of the weekend was Happy Days in Lisbon.  We went to the picnic (held inside due to rain) on Friday night, Parade on Saturday, BBQ at a friends and then the street dance that evening.  It was a perfect weekend!  Sunday we celebrated Father's Day together and also celebrated Hayden's friends, Carson and Ellery's 3rd birthday.
WE DID IT!  We survived a VERY busy and VERY fun week!

And now this week has started out very slow and very uneventful!  The weather is awful and we are just waiting for some nicer weather.
Jason leaves Friday morning for a golfing trip with three other guys.  They are going to western North Dakota to golf three courses and Hayden and I will head to the lake with my parents.

Perfect

No Pictures today because I am using my new laptop that does not house my pictures.  I do have tons of pictures to update and post but that will have to wait until the next time.
I was just thinking about how life is pretty perfect right now.....maybe I'm on a Summer high, maybe it's hormones, but the past couple weeks have been wonderful and I am LOVING being at home full time, LOVING Hayden's fun age, LOVING the nice weather and so much more.  We have been doing so much fun stuff lately and I just couldn't wait to share it all.
Memorial Weekend we went to the lake.  We had a great weekend with my family.  Emily, Scott & the kids got there on Friday evening and even though the weather wasn't great we still were able to enjoy most of what the lake has to offer.  We went for boat rides, bonfires, great food, flea market, celebrated John and Hayden's birthday, boys golfed.  It was great.
The following week flew by since Jason only had to work Tuesday-Friday and we were busy for much of those days.  Then we left for the lakes again on Friday.  This time Hayden and I met up with some of my cooking club friends at Zorbaz and had yummy pizza.  We then made a stop at my friend Meg's to see her family and for Hayden to play with his pal Dillon.  They have so much fun together.  Saturday while my dad and Jason went golfing the rest of us went to the Street Fair in Detroit Lakes.  We didn't find anything we couldn't live without but I did find a second hand bassinet at a children's store in the mall.  Got a great deal on it and it was in perfect condition.  Sunday was just a beautiful day to be at the lake.  We were outside pretty much all day except for when Hayden and Jason took a nap.  I even had to wake them up so that they didn't miss out on such a great day.  We all dipped our toes into the freezing water for the first time.
Yesterday was a hot one.....we started out the day checking out our friends new house that is in the process of being built, had a picnic at the park and then played at the pool for awhile.  Came home for a nap and then had gymnastics camp.  Hayden LOVED gymnastics camp.  At first I was a little worried he wouldn't participate but he loved it.  I could tell he was a little nervous at first but he caught on quickly and listened so well to his teachers.  He is excited to go back tomorrow.
Today we went to the pool again and enjoyed the hot Summer heat while it's here.  Sounds like tomorrow it's suppose to be in the 60s.
These are the days when I am so thankful that Jason has a good job that he works hard at so that I can stay home with Hayden and make these great memories with him.  I am also thankful for this time I get to spend with just him before our lives turn upside down in a couple short months and we go into survivor mode when baby arrives.  I know life will be perfect in a different way, but I am enjoying each of these moments as I know I will never get them back. Life is PERFECT!! :)
