on the mend and milestones!!!

Hayden is starting to feel a lot better. He has slept through the night the last two nights and is getting his appetite and spirits back. He still gets pretty tired, but he is doing much better. We go back to the clinic tomorrow for a follow-up check up. Here is a picture of him doing his nebulizer treatment. He does pretty well. I just strap him into his high chair and he sits there while I hold the wand. You will also notice his nice rug burn on his forehead. He things he can walk on his own and let go of the couch and took a nose dive into the floor. It won't be his last, I'm sure!

Yesterday was a BIG day for Hayden. He rolled over from his back to his tummy. I didn't see it! Of course! I had laid him down for his nap and he was fussing so I went up to find his plug for him and he was on his tummy. He was also on his tummy again this morning when I went to get him out of his crib. Little turkey probably won't let me see it. Then he also started to army crawl! I am so excited!! He didn't see me watching him at first and I grabbed the video camera and then he quit, so I had to be sneaking to catch him on tape. He definitely doesn't like to show off.

Here are a couple of pictures of Hayden eating spaghetti ...he loved it!

What a Week!!!

It has been a very long week for me, and I am sure for many of my family and friends. We started out the week with Hayden starting to get a cold and also the Sheyenne River which runs right through Lisbon starting to creep up to flood stage as well as lots of overland flooding from snow melting. Jason went and helped sandbag all day on Tuesday and Hayden's cold started to get worse. I took him into the clinic and after a nose swab, finger prick and chest x-ray (not a fun thing for mama!) he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He is on an antibiotic and also has to do nebulizer treatments twice a day. He has had about 3 or 4 coughing attacks that he ends up throwing up and I have been having a difficult time getting to drink his bottle. But today it seems like he is finally turning the corner to getting better. His lungs still sound pretty rattly, but he is able to get some productive coughs out. We have had to sleep with his sitting up for at least part of the night if not all of the night for the past few nights.

And then today I received word that one of my very good friends Erin and her family have had to evacuate their home in south Moorhead due to the Red River flooding. My heart aches and my stomach is turning for all of those people that have to leave behind their homes. I also found out that my cousin and his family have moved out to the lake for the time being. Only time will tell what damage will be done, but I only hope and pray that it is minimal. Please if you are reading this take a minute to say a special prayer for everyone fighting the flood waters. They need it.

One good note...I MIGHT have some good news in the coming week or 2 about a possible job. Stay tuned! :)

My Hobby!

I have never posted any of my scrapbook pages on here, so I wanted to share with all of you my hobby. I wish I made more time for it, but by the time I sit down and get organized I am all out of time. Every year I make a long trip to a cabin on Cross Lake by Brainerd, MN. There are 16 girls that go and we scrapbook for the whole weekend. That is where I get the majority of my scrapping done, but lately my friend Rachael has been encouraging me to get together with her to do more. I love doing it and am so glad I will have something to show my children and grandchildren. Here are a few of my favorites. The last one is of my nephew, John. Not Hayden! :) Just wanted to clarify. I did it a long time ago, but it's one of my favorites so I wanted to post it.

Crawling?? Walking??

NEITHER! :) He is getting closer to possibly crawling. I'm still not sure if he will. He gets up on his knees as you can see in the picture and he is able to scoot quite well on his butt and has excellent reach to get what he wants, but he just hasn't gotten to the point where he can take off. He is starting to get a little frustrated, though, so it might not be too long. He just wants to move. He does however really want to walk. If Jason or I am playing on the floor with him he will scoot himself over, pull himself up on us and then grab our hands because he wants us to walk with him. He would do it all day long. We are getting there! FINALLY! :)

9 Month Pictures

Head to the Studio D Photography website to check out Hayden's 9 month pictures. She took so many I don't know how I am going to choose! :) We went last week and at first he wasn't too excited about it (you will see in the photos) and then he warmed up and was his charming self. Enjoy!

My Little Buddy

It was my first official day as a stay-at-home mom. I got to hang out with my buddy, we played, danced, sang. I just wish it was nice outside so we could be out there. Soon enough....hopefully! I don't know about the rest of you, but I am so ready for winter to be over. I just can't wait to be outside enjoying the warmth and sun, going swimming, heading to the lake, etc.
Hayden had his 9 month check up on Friday (no shots, thank goodness) and he weighs 22.5 lbs and is a little over 28 inches long. His doctor said that he is just perfect, I guess we already knew that, but it's nice to hear that from a professional. :)

Today our bathroom was finally finished by the carpenter. After Hayden goes to bed tonight, Jason and I are planning on putting most of the finishing touches in there and will be able to use it again. I am so excited. I will post pictures of it finished this week. We don't have the sconces yet, so that won't be included but everything else is done. It turned out really well.
